Recently, I led a webinar with the HIMSS Southern California Chapter. The presentation covered critical topics in IT security, including the current threat landscape, methods to build an effective framework around your security program and how other organizations are dealing with the latest threats. As a follow up to the webinar, I would like to announce the continuation of the privacy and security conversation with other leaders in the industry at an upcoming event with SoCal HIMSS.

On Friday, September 30th, I will be moderating a panel at the 6th Annual Privacy and Security Forum at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA. The panel will include the following subject matter experts:

  • Bryan Kissinger- VP, Information Technology Risk Management and Chief Information Security Officer, Sharp HealthCare
  • Tamer Azmy- Cyber Security Operations Manager, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
  • Gary Gooden- Chief Information Security Officer, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
  • Nolan Garrett- Chief Information Security Officer, Verity Health System

The organized discussion will identify the latest security threats and how to develop an effective security program. Drawing from years of experience, the panelists and I will discuss how we have guided our organizations in initiatives such as implementing back-up solutions, recovering and identifying compromised data, integrating a methodology into organizational framework, performing IT security assessments, and allocating resources for IT security. We will also cover how we mobilized changes through continuous communication with executive teams and board members.

I look forward to an informative and interactive conversation with some of the top executives from Southern California hospital systems. Click here to register.
